The major difference between the Security Roller Shutter and the Domestic Roller Shutter
is Slat that makes up the curtain, other wise the rest of the component are the
same (e.g. electric motor, battery motor and controller, guides, head box etc.)

Security or Domestic Roller Shutter
The difference between the Domestic Roller Shutter and the Security Roller Shutter.
The Security Roller Shutter has an Extruded Aluminium Slat non-perforated that has been
developed as a premium product for security conscious buyers indeed wherever
superior strength is required. The AE4O1 series slat represents many technological
advantages, and forms the basis for our Security Roller Shutter.
Bushfire Rating
Ozroll Industries has recently had there AE401 Extruded Slat tested
by the CSIRO for Bushfire Radiant Heat and Ember Attack in respect to
Clause 14.4 of the Building Code AS1530.8.1-2007 criteria.
For the purpose of building regulations in Australia, and the test
specimen achieved a Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) of B40 when tested in
accordance with AS 1530.8.1-2007
Electric or Battery
Electric Operated Roller Shutters,
The electric Roller Shutter has a quieter and smoother operating system than the battery Roller Shutter. The installation of an electric Roller Shutter is a simpler process than fitting a battery operated Roller Shutter.

Electrician required
When your electric Roller Shutter has been installed there is no ongoing maintenance or costs. Battery Roller Shutters require recharging every month, but will operate when the power is out.
The down side to standard electric Roller Shutters is that they will not work if the power goes out, unless upgraded to the Somfy override motor.
Somfy Override System
The Somfy electric motor can be supplied with a manual override
system, which uses a crank handle, that attaches to the outside of the
head box, which will raise or lower the curtain, when the power is out.

Battery Operated Roller Shutters
No electrician required, will open and close your average size
Roller Shutters about 20 times before recharging, the battery controller
should be good for 3-5 years. Replacement Controllers are $125.00 each.
Battery Roller Shutter will works when the power is out.

The Box Locking System
This system uses the top of the head box and the spring connector to stop the shutter curtain from being lifted.
The curtain forms a vertical wall that can only be lifted as far as the top of the head box
As shown in the picture.
The gap at the top is determined by the height of the shutter. We can only work in multiples of one full slat, and therefore the gap should never be greater than the size of one slat.
The Slat Locking System
This system uses the same principle as the Box Lock System, and is used with the 180mm and the 205mm head boxes.
In this system we place two small pieces of slat in the box to simulate the top of the box.
The main advantage of this system is that the pieces of slat can be moved to reduce the gap at the top of the curtain.

Large window
The best solution for a large window spanning up to 4200mm, is to use a Commercial Roller Shutter which incorporates a 55mm curved foam filled slat nominal thickness: 13.6mm profile with 76 mm x 28 mm heavy duty guide and bottom bar. This is a double walled cavity, curved 55mm profile with PU foam injected during the roll forming process. This process provides economical strength and the insulation qualities while maintaining exceptional performance of the slat. The curved shape of the slat provides minimal roll sizes and optimal lateral strength.

Can Roller Shutters Operate on an Angle?
No, Roller Shutters need the weight of the curtain to fully close and for the curtain to move freely down the guides. If the curtain doesn't move freely the curtain will unwind in the head box.
Spring Assist
We can supply a Spring Assist Roller Shutter which is pushed up and pulled down by hand with spring assist; it comes with a bottom bar central key lock. The bottom of the guides requires a slot to be cut in it so it can except the locking bar from the key lock.
The Spring Assist Roller Shutter is the same price as the battery Roller Shutter. When ordering, order your shutter as a battery shutter, and then email us immediately about the Roller Shutter being a spring assist. Please let us know which side of the Roller Shutter you want the key lock, is to be on the same side as the head box or the other side.

Warranty starts from the date you receive the product.
We warrant that all products are free of defective parts and
faulty workmanship and agree to replace any part that proves to be defective: without charge.
In the case that a warranty claim arises, we require the faulty part
or item to be returned to us so we can examine or test and replace any item deemed faulty.
Please Note: The freight, handling & insurance costs remain the responsibility of the buyer in case of a warranty claim. If the product is deemed faulty the product will be returned at no cost.
Can a Roller Shutter be used as a roller door
No it was not designed for that purpose, it's designed as a window Roller Shutter
